Dr. Orsolya Csilla Pachner senior lecturer at ELTE PPK Institute of Education and Psychology - Szombathely
The course was related to the creation of a new community board game with a focus on research in the 2020/2021 academic year by introducing students to the psychology of gaming activity.
The course was structured as follows: with the students we explored different approaches to play, the peculiarities of psychological theories, the students got acquainted with the main psychological game theories (especially Piaget and Winnicott’s ideas). Through Nógrády's work, the students got to know the functional approach of the game, as well as how they researched the reasons for game at the turn of the century. We touched on the psychological relevance of Endre Grastyán's research on games. Finally, we sought correlations between the concept of psychological play and psychological and cultural development.
Students were able to join the 15-hour course online through the MS Teams interface. We recorded the material of the lectures so that as many of the students as possible could get involved in the professional work.
